Most companies aim to centralise and standardise treasury processes as much as possible. This helps improve controls, efficiency and costs. However, Latin America is a complex region where normal rules not always apply. Many argue that centralising is not only impossible but in some cases, even counterproductive.

In this session Bacardi and Decathlon, two companies with different views and strategies share their experience.

Decathlon a fast growing company, promotes entrepreneurship and each country is run like an independent business. Centralisation, in their view, would slow growth.

Bacardi has opted for a highly centralised model, with a SSC, same processes for all and centralized decision and operations where possible.
